Sinhon thiourea | Treatment of Refractory Gold Ore by Thiourea Process

Refractory gold ore, also known as refractory gold ore, usually refers to gold ore that still has a considerable amount of gold that cannot be effectively leached by conventional cyanide after fine grinding. On the one hand, the gold in this type of gold ore is either wrapped by arsenopyrite or combined with pyrite sulfide, and the micro-gold itself is embedded in the lattice of some minerals, which is difficult to be contacted and dissolved by the leaching agent; on the other hand, harmful components in the minerals (such as arsenic, sulfur, etc.) are prone to chemical passivation during the leaching process. This type of ore must be pretreated first to expose the gold in the micro-particle state embedded in the arsenopyrite lattice of the refractory gold-containing ore, and then the gold is leached and dissolved.

Thiourea leaching process for refractory gold ore At present, there are many methods for extracting gold from refractory gold ore. The thiourea leaching process has become a rapidly developing gold extraction process today due to its advantages of low environmental pollution, fast leaching speed and high selectivity. The thiourea gold leaching process has its unique advantages: the gold recovery rate is greatly improved and the leaching time is significantly shortened, which is feasible in terms of economic budget; the non-toxic characteristics also reduce the safety hazards of use and are environmentally friendly; it is not very sensitive to impurities in the raw materials, and copper, zinc, arsenic, etc. are not easily dissolved, which simplifies the recovery process; during leaching, the gold and silver coexisting with other minerals are decomposed more thoroughly.

Many gold application chemists and metallurgists are actively optimizing and developing the thiourea gold leaching process in order to realize the industrial metallurgy of thiourea for difficult-to-leach gold ores. Today's research focuses are:

(1) Recycling and utilizing thiourea gold extraction waste liquid;

(2) Reducing the synthesis cost of thiourea;

(3) Combining modern physical and chemical means such as electricity, magnetism, and sound with metallurgical processes, introducing computer control into the gold leaching process, and realizing intelligent production;

(4) Selecting appropriate and economical pretreatment methods and leaching processes according to the characteristics of gold ore;

Comprehensive consideration when putting into production, and flexible construction to meet the development needs of different users, different levels, and different scales.
