Sinhon thiourea | Proportion of thiourea leaching used in different gold mines

1.Gold sulphide ore

Flotation stage:

Xanthate was mainly used: the dosage of butyl xanthate was 150-250 g/t, and thiourea was used as an auxiliary collector (30-80 g/t) to enhance the stability of hydrophobic membranes.

Synergistic mechanism: thiourea forms hydrogen bonds with the dithiocarboxyl group (-OCSS⁻) of xanthate through the thiol group (-SH) to increase the adsorption density.

Typical case: A gold sulfide mine uses "xanthate (200 g/t) thiourea (50 g/t)", and the gold recovery rate is increased by 8.2%.

2. Oxide gold ore

Vulcanization - Flotation Process:

Sodium sulfide dosage: 1-3 kg/t, thiourea (100-200 g/t) stabilized sulfidation film.

Xanthate dosage: 100-200 g/t (e.g., amyl xanthate).

Typical case: A copper oxide mine in Yunnan Province, sodium sulfide (2 kg/t), thiourea (150 g/t) xanthate (120 g/t), copper recovery increased from 55% to 79%.

3. Carbon-bearing gold ore

Thiourea leaching - xanthate flotation:

Thiourea concentration: 2-4 kg/t (pH 1.5-2), xanthate dosage 100-200 g/t.

Inhibition of carbonaceous adsorption: thiourea reduces the adsorption of carbonaceous to gold through complexation, and xanthate captures residual sulfides.

Case in point: A carbonaceous gold mine used "thiourea (3 kg/t) xanthate (150 g/t)", and the total gold recovery rate increased from 65% to 89%.
